Often times we concentrate on moisturizing our face and hands while our body skin takes the back burner. In the winter months with heat on in buildings and the cold outside, skin tends to get extremely dry, tight and itchy.
While on a ski trip to Aspen, I was experiencing that exact same problem and the spa at my hotel was offering a moisturizing treatment bath with olive oil. I asked the spa attendant how they prepare it and she said they add a half a cup of lavender epsom salts and a quarter cup of virgin olive oil. I soaked in it for about 20 mins and was advised to not use shower gel, but just rinse and pat dry. And oh my God, did my skin feel like silk?! Hot water helps infuse olive oil deep into the skin and the oil itself simultaneously seals moisture from the bath. It is definitely a winning combo. And its so easy to prepare at home! You should give it a try and spoil yourself a little .
